Digital Transformation in Governance and Society (DTGS-2024) 

June 24–26, 2024, St. Petersburg, Russia

The 7th International Conference “Digital Transformation in Governance and Society” (DTGS-2024) will be held on June 24–26, 2024, in St. Petersburg, Russia, within the framework of the joint conference «Internet and Modern Society» (IMS-2024).

DTGS is held since 2016 (in 2022-2023 as a youth poster session within IMS). For the first time, in 2024 DTGS will be organized in both Russian and English and will also unite two conferences previously hosted by ITMO University – DTGS and EGOSE, organized since 2014.

The form of participation is offline.

DTGS is an international collaborative platform for researchers to discuss transformative impact of digital technology on governments and societies across the globe, with a special emphasis on the BRICS countries. The key topic of DTGS-2024 is related to the digital transformation of governance, as well as political communication online.

We welcome multidisciplinary papers that apply approaches from the social sciences and humanities to the research on social and political institutions, practices, human communication and other behavior in cyberspace, as well as offline, if those are directly influenced by the recent digital transformations and are related to governance or political participation.

We are especially interested in papers falling into the following topics

  • Digital Transformation of Governance and Public Administration;
  • E-Governance, E-Government, Digital Government;
  • Digital Public Governance;
  • Smart Cities, Digital Transformation of Urban Systems;
  • Political Participation and Civic Engagement Online;
  • E-Participation, E-Voting and I-Voting;
  • Online Political Communication and the Social Media Research.

SUBMISSION

  • Authors need to submit a paper to DTGS-2024 via the EasyChair system.
  • Papers must be submitted in PDF format according to the template, contain 12–15 pages (for ongoing research – 10–12 pages), in the English language.
  • Submission must not include authors’ affiliation, this information will be added to the final version of the paper after its approval.
  • All papers will undergo a double-blind peer review.
  • The authors of accepted papers will be invited to participate in DTGS-2024. Only papers presented at the conference by at least one co-author will be recommended for publication.

  • 15 June – Camera-Ready Paper submission
  • 17 June – Registration of Participants Deadline
  • 24–26 June 2024 – Poster Session at IMS-2024 Conference

PROCEEDINGS

We welcome original contributions, which fall into the scope of DTGS–2024. For presentation and publication, papers must be written in English (for the English track). Papers must be original: they should not be either published elsewhere or being under review for other conferences or journals. All submissions will undergo double-blind peer review by the Program Committee. Accepted papers will be submitted to the international publisher and, upon the acceptance, will be published in Scopus-indexed series.
